Eventually transom windows earned a dominant role in households not just above exterior doors but within the interior space of a home as well. So for a 2 8 door so would order a 2 8 transom. The windows are generally rectangular and placed horizontally and may be sectioned with trim. We have the transoms custom built onsite. We then use divided light grids on the transoms and have them match the exterior windows.

Door transoms can be used on interior doors and these are mainly ornamental in nature. Choose interior or exterior models. We would strongly recommend going with the transom. Our transoms are single pane 1 4 annealed glass with simulated divided lite with 1 3 16 muntin bars.
