Treat your teak annually by firstly cleaning your teak furniture to remove any mould and mildew leave it to dry fully then rub on the teak protector fluid using a cloth so that it gets into the grain of the wood and again leave to dry. Teak is an ideal material for garden furniture due to its resistance to the outdoor elements. If the color has faded greatly or the wood has deep stains then a light sanding will expose a fresh layer of golden wood just below the surface. It requires very little care or maintenance to last decades.

This is probably one of the more familiar treatments for teak furniture and certainly one of our best sellers over and above the others. But if you apply the wrong type of product it can actually be harmful to teak wood in the long run. In contrary to most types of wooden outdoor furniture that made from teak requires no protective treatments in the form of paints varnishes and oiling because teak is naturally resistant to the outdoor extremes. Teak oil is a natural product that will not damage the wood.

There are some recommended products that you can use to treat the wood in order for it to keep a beautiful color long after you buy it. To protect the wood apply oil once in a while. It will prolong the golden colour of teak for longer for those who prefer this complexion over the silver grey weathered look. Teak wood has special qualities that make it ideal for outdoor use.
